In what was predicted to be a light air, upwind poke to Halifax, Owner David Greenstein and Co-skipper Nelson Mills as well as their crew of 15 exceeded expectations as they roared to the finish line on Tuesday at 2:43 p.m ADT onboard the 68’ Mills Space Monkey. Crossing the finish line in 1 day, 23 hours, 18 minutes, and 29 seconds. Space Monkey took Line Honors, first to finish in the ORR Division and Third in ORR-1.
Close on their heels and in the same ORR-1 division is the Naval Academy’s Reichel Pugh 66 Kodiak with a crew of 17 which could win the division on corrected time. They are 17 miles to the finish line and look to take second overall in ORR, and second to finish as well as first place in ORR-1 on corrected time.
Check back soon for more results and photos from the finish.
