Space Monkey Takes Line Honors in the 39th Marblehead to Halifax Ocean Race 
In what was predicted to be a light air, upwind poke to Halifax, Owner David Greenstein and Co-skipper Nelson Mills as well as their crew of 15 exceeded expectations as they roared to the finish line on Tuesday at 2:43 p.m ADT.
And then there were two!  
Close on Space Monkey's heels and in the same ORR-1 division is the Naval Academy’s Reichel Pugh 66 Kodiak with a crew of 17 which crossed the finish line at 4:22 pm ADT. They took 2 days 0 hours 57 minutes 17 seconds. They look to take second overall in ORR, and second to finish as well as first place in ORR-1 on corrected time.
Racers Sail into the Festivities in Halifax 
Bruce Chafee's Rikki moving at 6.9 knots is likely to be the next to make it to shore with an anticipated 3rd in Line Honours, 2nd in ORR 1 and 3rd in ORR overall. Estimated finish is just after midnight ADT Wednesday July 12th, 2023. The Royal Noval Scotia Yacht Squadron has lots of activities planned for the competitors on shore.

Comradery, competition highlight 70-boat start of Marblehead-to-Halifax race 
The 39th biennial Marblehead-to-Halifax race featured a spectacular start with brightly colored spinnaker sails outside Marblehead Harbor on July 9. Up to 600 sailors on 70 boats in 11 fleets sailed downwind and made a turn off Tinker’s Island, setting course for Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Day 1 Update 
As the leading boats approach the half way mark in the Marblehead to Halifax race, Space Monkey, the Mills 68 from the New York Yacht Club and Kodiak, the Reichel Pugh 66 with 17 crew from the Naval Academy Sailing team have gained a commanding lead from the other 67 contenders in the race. Marblehead to Halifax Fleet Up to 80 Boats

Skipper whose boat was destroyed by lightning first to register 
Skipper John “Drew” Plominski is hoping that lightning doesn’t strike twice. Plominski, whose boat was destroyed by lightning days before the last race, was first in line to register for next summer's race.

2021 Race Date is Announced 
Being cautiously optimistic that COVID-19 will be manageable by summer, the MHOR committee is pleased to announce that the race is scheduled to start on July 11, 2021. In order to improve the chances that the smaller boats can meet the time limit, significant changes have been made.
