The Boston Yacht Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron are pleased to announce the 41st biennial Marblehead-to-Halifax Ocean Race. The race will start on Sunday July 11th 2027, and is open to all yachts meeting the requirements published in the Notice of Race and which are accepted by MHORC. The race will offer scoring under TBD with racing and cruising divisions. The 361 nautical mile race will start in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and will finish in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is a World Sailing Category 2 event.
This race is a qualifier for the Northern Ocean Racing Trophy, the New England Lighthouse Series for
PHRF yachts and the ORR East Coast Championship. Special competitions will include short-handed
crew in the racing divisions, club teams, and senior crews.
The Olin J. Stephens Trophy will be awarded for the yacht scored under ORR with the best combined performance in the Newport Bermuda Race and the Marblehead-to-Halifax Race.
